Bishop State Community College is a public two-year community and technical college in Mobile, Alabama.

Originally a part of Alabama State College in Montgomery, Alabama, the school was founded in 1927 and was established as a two year college in 1936.

Bishop State was officially named an “Alabama State College Branch Mobile Center” in 1965 by the state legislature. The school went through various name changes. For several years the college was known as Mobile State Junior College. In 1991, Carver State Community College and Southwest State Technical College were combined by the Alabama State Board of Education to create Bishop State Community College.

Caldwell School, a historic elementary school built for African American children in 1947, is part of Bishop State Campus.
