Bates Technical College is a two-year technical college that offers Associate of Technology degrees and professional certificates. The college is located in the city of Tacoma and is the largest public technical college in the entire state of Washington. While the majority of the programs at Bates are career-oriented, several of its associate degrees will enable student to transfer to a four-year college or university to pursue a bachelor’s degree. Bates has also established articulation agreements with several four-year universities in the regional, whereby ensuring its student will be accepted upon graduation.
In addition to its main campus on South Yakima Avenue, Bates has two other campuses in the Tacoma area. In all, Bates Technical College has over 640,000 square feed of building space that is used for labs, meetings, administration offices, student classroms, and other support facilities.
