Williams Baptist College was founded in 1941 as a two-year college and operated as such for nearly 40 years. The college started offering bachelor degrees in the 1980s. This private, coeducational school’s current president is Dr. Tom Jones. The original president (and founder) was Dr. H. E. Williams. In 1991, the school changed its name Southern Baptist College to Williams Baptist College in honor of Dr. Williams, its founder.
