Founded in 1968, The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale (abbreviated AiFL) is the second oldest of 50 Art Institutes established in the United States and Canada. AiFL is a private, for-profit, coeducational, applied-arts college that provides career-oriented degree programs for aspiring art and design professionals. The Ft. Lauderdale campus is comprised of 2 applied-arts schools, an on-campus Chef’s Palette restaurant, a student dormitory and 16 individual art departments. AiFL is not a regionally accredited education institution but it is nationally accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS). Instructors at AiFL are real-world industry professionals who not only understand their respective disciplines but have real-world experience that is valuable to students seeking to prepare for entry-level career positions.
