Arkansas Tech University, commonly referred to as "ATU", is a four-year university that resides in the city of Russellville, Arkansas. ATU offers students the options of both undergraduate and graduate degree programs in a variety of disciplines and career fields. ATU also has a satellite campus, Arkansas Tech University Ozark, located in the Town of Ozark, Arkansas. ATU Ozark is a smaller campus that offers associate degrees and professional certificate programs.

Academic Colleges and Programs

The University is divided into seven academic colleges through which its 140 undergraduate and graduate programs are administered. The University offers programs ranging from criminal justice, foreign languages, and history, to programs in biomedical sciences, chemistry, and nuclear engineering.

Of these programs, nursing and early childhood education are the most popular garnering 14% and 11% respectively, of the total student population enrolled at the institution.

The University is committed to student engagement and as such, provides numerous “hands-on” internship opportunities. These opportunities are designed to provide students with real-world experience within their specific disciplines.

ATU has invested $180 million in upgrades to its infrastructure over the last 20 years and has introduced 40 new academic programs. ATU has had 12 consecutive years of record enrollment. From 1997-2010 ATU increased its enrollment by 131%. In 2010 the fall enrollment was a record 9,814 students.

Student Housing

ATU, as it is commonly abbreviated, has approximately nineteen residence halls in which students can live. First-year students are permitted to live in fifteen of the nineteen until they complete their first year, at which time they can live in any of the nineteen units. The Office of Residence Life, the University's office that supervises and orchestrates student housing, is committed to providing students with a clean and safe living environment; one that facilitates student academic success.
