Arkansas is home to more than 100 colleges and universities that are located from the eastern lowlands near the Mississippi River all the way to the Ozark mountains. Over 30 colleges are found in the capital city Little Rock including Hendrix College, University of Central Arkansas and Arkansas Baptist College. The University of Arkansas, a top-ranked school is located in Arkansas’s third largest city Fayetteville. The University of Arkansas has other campus locations in Little Rock, Fort Smith, Pine Bluff and Monticello, whereby offering its students the opportunity to earn their degree from just about anywhere in the state.

As Arkansas is located in the Bible Belt and has a predominantly Protestant population, many of its colleges and universities have strong religious affiliations. Some of these schools include Ouachita Baptist University, Williams Baptist College, Arkansas Baptist College and Central Baptist College.
