School Overview
Angelo State University, part of the Texas Tech University System, is a coeducational, public university offering doctoral-level degrees. The university is located in San Angelo, Texas, USA. It was founded back in 1928 as San Angelo College and later gained university status in 1967 when it awarded its first baccalaureate degrees. In 1969 it awarded graduate degrees and took on the name Angelo State University. ASU was called one of “The Best 376 Colleges” by the Princeton Review for 2013. There were three other Texas schools listed which were Texas A&M University, the University of Texas, and the University of Houston. It also received the designation in its region as being “Best in the West” (one of twenty-two institutions in Texas to receive this designation.) It offers 34 graduate programs and over 100 undergraduate programs.
