School Overview

Anderson University is a private, Christian, liberal arts institution located in Anderson, Indiana. The university’s mission is to educate students for lives of faith and service in the church and society.

AU offers more than 50 undergraduate majors, and graduate programs in business, music education, and theology. Students also have more than 130 opportunities to get involved on campus, including a variety of interest and social clubs, professional societies and student government, campus ministries and service opportunities, and residence life leadership teams. AU also has 20 NCAA Division III sports and a nationally recognized intramural program, with 16 unique sports and four tournaments throughout the year.

Spiritual life is an important part of the AU story, as it was founded by the Church of God in 1917, and still maintains this relationship today. Chapel takes place twice a week and hosts a wide range of dynamic speakers, and students also have numerous options for small groups or focus groups hosted on campus, in the residence halls, and by local faculty and staff members. There are also many ways to get involved for service, mentorship, and campus ministries that serve both on and off campus.

One of the most unique parts about AU is the Tri-S program, which stands for Study, Serve, and Share. Tri-S trips take place during regular school breaks, and any student from any major can participate. There are more than 30 different trips that take place all over the country and the world every year, involving both cross-cultural and service-learning experiences. The best part is, they are also affordable.
