Established in 1957 as the Alaska Methodist University, Alaska Pacific University (APU) is a relatively small private college located in Anchorage, Alaska. APU is a liberal arts college that focus on teaching and molding its students through active and experiential learning. Alaska Pacific University belongs to the Eco League, a five-college consortium which incluces Alaska Pacific University, Northland College, Green Mountain College, Prescott College and College of the Atlantic. The Eco League was first developed in response to requests for better collaboaration between Alaska’s higher education institutions. All consortium schools, including Alaska Pacific University, provide students strong Psychology and Environmental Studies programs, and related courses.
