Patten University

Patten University is an accredited private university located in Oakland, California. The university was first established in 1944 as the Oakland Bible Institute by preacher Dr. Bebe Patten. It was also directly affiliated with the Christian Evangelical Churches of America. In 1997, the school become affiliated with the University of the Church of God and its name was later changed to Patten University.

Patten University is authorized by the California State Board of Education and accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) However, accreditation for the univerity was recently under probation.

The university offers undergraduate degrees in several religious subjects as well as liberal arts and sciences and business. For those seeking a graduate degree the university offers master’s degree programs in business management and education. For active duty military personnel, the university offers a special Associate of Science (A.S.) in General Studies.
