Northwestern University
Northwestern University is a prestigious private university located in Evanston, Illinois, a Chicago suburb. It offers an array of undergraduate and graduate programs for talented students. Northwestern University is also a member of the Big Ten athletic conference.
Northwestern University offers various academic programs. It has been recognized for its excellent medical, engineering, science, and liberal arts programs.
A few of Northwestern University’s internationally-recognized programs include theatre, sociology, journalism, film and media studies, integrated marketing communication, drama, biology, law, business management, computer engineering, and mechanical engineering.
Since Northwestern is a private university, tuition rates are high compared to state colleges and universities. However, students at Northwestern can take advantage of work-study programs, Pell grants, loans, and numerous scholarships sponsored by the university and private organizations.
Northwestern provides numerous employment services for students. Job fairs are held throughout the year and the university’s career center lists internships and jobs on its job board.
Students living in Chicago who do not want to live or commute to Evanston can complete classes on the Chicago campus. More opportunities for international students to study at Northwestern are now available since it recently opened a new campus in Qatar.
Plenty of social opportunities are available to students at Northwestern. More than 200 student organizations are located on campus. Students participating in these groups get the opportunity to socialize, volunteer, and recreate. A museum, a cinema airing foreign films, a concert hall, and a theater are also located on campus. Since Northwestern is a member of the Big 10, numerous sporting events are frequently held on campus.
